Now that fall is in full swing, and we are feeling a slight nip in the air, our team is looking forward to another amazing Pacific Northwest winter. At Outdoors for All, winter and its recreation activities hold a special place in our hearts. As an organization that started as an adaptive ski program almost 50 years ago, spending these cold months outside and on top of Washington’s beautiful and dramatic mountains is etched in our bones.

When Outdoors for All began as Ski for All in 1979, we could never have imagined where we would find ourselves today. We have not only helped build a community of bada$$ skiers, but thanks to the incredible support from our amazing volunteers, we have been able to expand into so many other areas of winter adaptive recreation. Whether our participants want to try skiing for the first time, are finding their way back to snowboarding, or want to experience nature on snowshoes, we are ready to meet everyone where they are.

With our growing number of programs and participants every year, we would love to have our volunteer numbers grow with us. If you already love spending your weekends in the mountains and want to share what you love with an amazing community, take a look at our volunteer page! Volunteer registration is already open and we would love to bring your expertise to the slopes with us this year!
This year we are so excited to be back at the Summit West and Stevens Pass for downhill stand, sit, mono, bi & dual ski programs as well as snowboarding. For volunteers looking to spend their winter cross country skiing and snowshoeing, we will have programs running at Summit East all winter long. Because every individual participant is starting at different levels, we want to make sure that we can provide the appropriate amount of support. So, spend your winter with us, share what you love, and make an impact on your community—you won’t regret it!
“I love volunteering with OFA because I truly believe everyone deserves the chance to experience the joy, freedom and connection that comes from spending time recreating outdoors. Recreating should be something that is accessible to all, and OFA does exactly that! Volunteering helps make all kinds of outdoor experiences possible by ensuring athletes are supported in safe, fun, and inclusive spaces and communities. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of that process and to contribute to the OFA mission of enriching lives through outdoor recreation!!” – Geneva Ascher, she/her Programs: Friday Night Skiing, Biking.
