Wow! It’s hard to believe it but we have already hit summer’s halfway point and boy has it flown by! Our summer camp programs have been jam-packed with participants, and positive vibes. As we look towards the second half of summer, we wanted to take a moment to soak in the summer so far.
Our campers at both Magnuson Park and Lake Sammamish State Park have been soaking up the sunshine. Participating in a huge range of our activities (not to mention some pretty cool field trips) each week. With tide pooling, hiking, cycling, kayaking, swimming and sailing embedded into the camp schedule, our campers are really getting a taste of adaptive recreation.
Our camp program is a true camp experience, with an emphasis on being outdoors. But that doesn’t mean we leave the other activities unexplored! Both our youth and adult campers have gotten to leave the parks and wander through the Woodland Park Zoo, the Sammamish Animal Sanctuary and even Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center. On Friday, July 31st, parents, family, friends, and our office staff, were even treated to a talent show held at our main office in Bellevue—we loved seeing our campers show us what they love to do!
Our Group Program team is having a busy summer delivering tons of programs both locally and across the state. Early in the summer, our Group Program team brought Outdoors for All to Spokane, working with three different partners. We are so excited about the relationships we have developed, not only locally in the Greater Seattle area. We are so excited to see these developing relationships with communities in every corner of our state grow.
As with every season at Outdoors for All, our individual programs have been brimming with adventure. Our Individual Program team has been outside supporting our participants as they really take advantage of all that summer has
From the hustle & bustle at our new Adaptive Cycling Center at PenMet Parks Recreation Center to our long running camp programs, our program staff and volunteers have been busy creating incredible experiences across Washington—and we still have the rest of summer to go!
