Picture it with us. The sun is shining, it’s warm, but not too hot. You and your friends hop on your bikes and hit the trails. The trees are bright and green; the pollen is out in full force (but you remembered to take your allergy meds – so you are set for the day. This is summer.

For many people, memories of summer include bike riding with friends and family until sundown. Riding downhill with the wind whipping through your hair feels like flying. Every summer, we aim to make that feeling accessible to more people.

What started as one Adaptive Cycling Center in the heart of Magnuson Park, led to the creation of the Lake Sammamish ACC in 2023. This summer, we are thrilled to be able to help create even more memories for our community in Gig Harbor with our new ACC at PenMet Parks Recreation Center. Each center comes fully equipped with a range of cycles ready to ride. Whether you are looking for a tandem bike to experience the outdoors fully in sync with a loved one, a stable trike or two-wheeler-there is truly something for any ability level.

Getting outside with your friends and family and experiencing nature is what summer was made for. Peddling the trails around Magnuson, Lake Sammamish and now PenMet Parks at your own pace is a great way to spend the summer in Washington.

All three of our Adaptive Cycling Center locations are ready to roll (pun intended). With free adaptive bike rentals available for all people with disabilities ages 7+, everyone can experience the feeling of flying this summer. You bring the sunscreen, and we will bring cycles. Our staff can’t wait to see you on the trails!
