Thanks to our pop-up Adaptive Cycling Centers this Seattle Summer has been filled with incredible opportunities to get outside and enjoy adaptive biking for riders of all abilities! Thanks to our friends at the Seattle Department of Transportation, these events are completely free and open to everyone with no registration needed.
On Saturday July 13th we were at Judkins Park near the skatepark and basketball courts, right off the I-90 trail. Our riders enjoyed views of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier as we rode through the I-90 tunnel. It was the perfect way to experience the park and get our wheels rolling!
Later in July, we had another great day of riding that took place at Genesee Park. Riders enjoyed scenic loops around the park or cruised down the car-free Lake Washington Boulevard all the way to Seward Park, taking in the sights and fresh air along the way.
We kicked off August with a ride at Jefferson Park in Beacon Hill. Adaptive bikes, trikes, tandems, and handcycles were available for all riders. Participants explored the park’s beautiful trails while taking breathtaking views of downtown Seattle and the Olympic Mountains.
These events are all about accessibility, fun, and community. Whether you were a first-time rider or a seasoned pro, it was fun for all to come out and experience the joy of adaptive cycling in different locations in Seattle.
