Volunteer at Fundraising Events

Outdoors for All hosts multiple fundraising events throughout the year, including our Gala Auction in the fall, Spreefest in the spring, and several smaller events. They’re a great way to learn about Outdoors for All, meet the community, and make a meaningful impact.

Volunteer for our 29th annual Spreefest, our largest winter fundraiser! The event is a 3 month peer-to-peer fundraising campaign that ends with a fundraising wrap party on-mountain. Join the fun and receive a free lift ticket for the event day as a volunteer!

Date: Saturday, March 7

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Volunteer shift times vary.

Location: Summit West, The Summit at Snoqualmie

Reminders:

  • Alcohol consumption is not permitted during volunteer shifts. Volunteers under the influence will be sent home at staff discretion.
  • Volunteers may not participate in raffles or auctions at fundraising events.
  • Lunch is not provided during volunteer shifts. Food is available for purchase on site. Please bring a cold lunch and snacks if preferred.
  • Volunteers do not receive a volunteer T-shirt. Flannel shirts and fun western wear are encouraged!

Requirements: Volunteer training will take place the day of the event. All volunteer roles are 16+ except for the beer garden roles, which are 21+

Volunteer Roles and Times:

Volunteer Support Lead (2 shifts: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM OR 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM) - Available

Report to the Volunteer Coordinator and serve as a key point of contact for volunteers, assist with check-in, role assignments, shift transitions, and coordination with designated staff leads. This is a high-importance role supporting volunteer management.

Demo Skis Transporter (2 shifts: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM OR 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM) - Available

Provide critical support by transporting demo skis, gear, and supplies for demo reps and staff. Help manage the Vendor Village by supporting setup logistics, vendor needs, and maintaining organization during the event. Afternoon shift will assist with event breakdown and cleanup. This role requires reliable, detail‑oriented volunteers and is essential.

Raffle Ticket Sales (2 shifts: 9 AM – 12:00 PM OR 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM) - Available

Help sell raffle tickets to attendees in the pavilion. Must be outgoing, persuasive, and comfortable with consistent stranger interactions for the duration of the shift. 

Beer Garden Helper, Breakdown, and Clean-up Crew (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM) - Available

Must be 21+. Hand out canned beverages as directed, manage boundaries, keep the area clean, help transition to a cash‑only bar, then assist with breakdown and cleanup.

Event Setup (6:30 AM – 9:30 AM) - Full

Help with event set up. Must be okay with lifting heavy materials, such as tents, boxes, etc.

Registration (2 shifts: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM OR 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM) - Full

Help with running registration, which includes collecting forms, donations, distributing t-shirts, etc. Shift 2 will also help breakdown and cleanup the registration area.  

Race Course Set-Up and Timer (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM) - Full

Assist with the initial construction of rails, fencing, start/finish line, and timing on-snow. Volunteers must be physically capable of loading equipment and an intermediate level skier/rider. You must also bring your own equipment.

Snowshoe Volunteer (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) - Full

Volunteers will help facilitate our Snowshoe tour for Spreefest attendees. Must be comfortable on-snow and capable of snowshoeing for 1.5 hours. Please plan to bring your own snowshoes, but snowshoes are also available upon request.

Red Robin Lunch Liaison (10:30 AM – 2 PM) - Full

Assist Red Robin and Outdoors for All staff during lunch. This includes answering questions about lunch from Spreefest attendees, handing out food items, group management, and other duties as assigned.  

Race Course Timer and Takedown (11:30 AM – 3:00 PM) - Full

Assist timing attendees who go through the race course on-snow. Then, help take down the race course. Volunteers must be physically capable of loading equipment and an intermediate level skier/rider. You must also bring your own equipment.

Beer Garden Pouring Station Volunteer (1 PM – 5 PM) - Full

Must be 21+. Pour beer and take payment, assist with the cash‑only bar transition, keep the station tidy, and help with end‑of‑day shutdown.

Come volunteer at the St. Patrick’s Day Dash at the Seattle Center! Proceeds support Outdoors for All.

Date: Sunday, March 15

Location: Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center

Volunteer Roles and Times:

Beer Garden Pouring Station Volunteer (8:30 AM – 1 PM)

Volunteers will help staff beer pouring stations with the assistance of an on-site manager. Accept payment via Square readers and cash. Volunteers DON’T need to check IDs. Must be 21+

The Big Taste is a wine, beer, cider, and distilled spirits tasting event hosted by the University Sunrise Rotary Club. Proceeds benefit Outdoors for All.

Volunteers are invited to stay and enjoy the event at no cost after their shift concludes. Volunteers 21+ will receive five drink tickets.

Date: Sunday, April 12

Time: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Location: Block 41 Event Space

115 Bell St, Seattle, WA

Volunteer Roles and Times:

Set Up (11:00 AM – 1:30 PM)

Assist with event setup. Set up tables and chairs, tasting glasses. Prepare registration, rotary information, charity information, and retail areas. Support band setup as directed. Place signage and assist with additional logistics as needed.

Registration (3:00 PM - 5:30 PM)

Check ID of all guests that want to be served alcohol; provide wrist bracelet to affirm ID check. Check in guests from guest lists or actual tickets; sell tickets night of event. Volunteers must be 21+

Outdoors for All Info Tent (4:00 PM – 7:30 PM)

Staff info stations (includes wine toss or spin the wheel activity). Maintain friendly and engaging attitude answering questions for guests. Distribute bottles of water and help clean up.

Photographer (4:00 PM – 7:30 PM)

Bring your camera equipment and capture guests and event.

Clean Up (7:00 PM – 8:30 PM)

Bag-up recycling, compost, and trash, clean off tables. Return all tables and chairs to storage. Assist tasting vendors in loading their vehicles. Mop up spills. Other duties as needed.

Volunteer Manuals & Policy Documents

Outdoors for All does not tolerate abuse or neglect of any kind, between any association of staff, volunteers, participants, family members, or caregivers. In Washington State, abuse or neglect is defined as the physical, sexual, or emotional injury of child (or vulnerable adult) by any person under circumstances which cause harm to the individual’s health, welfare, or safety; or the negligent treatment or maltreatment of a child (or vulnerable adult) by a person responsible for or providing care to the child.

If there is suspected abuse or neglect, or a claim of abuse or neglect, taking place within an Outdoors for All program, or with a participant who is involved in an Outdoors for All program, Outdoors for All has a legal and ethical responsibility to report such suspensions or claims to the appropriate authorities and/or support investigations into such claims of abuse or neglect.

During an investigation, Outdoors for All may limit the participation of individuals involved in the claim. Outdoors for All does not have an obligation to share the details of an investigation with those involved in the claim, to protect privacy and prevent retaliation of those involved.

Staff and volunteers complete yearly training on abuse and neglect prevention and reporting practices within Washington State.
