We had an incredible day spent with over 200 Anderson Award recipients, thanks to our amazing partners at REI! This unforgettable event brought together passionate REI employees from across the country, and we were honored to be part of the celebration.
Our day began with a meaningful donor stewardship project in the morning at our headquarters followed by lunch. It was the perfect opportunity to connect with REI team members and share stories, ideas, and our shared commitment to making the outdoors more inclusive for everyone.
In the afternoon, we headed to the beautiful Lake Sammamish State Park for an adaptive bike education and demo. It was a true joy to showcase our adaptive recreation programs and watch everyone experience the freedom and fun these bikes provide. Seeing the enthusiasm and curiosity from the REI crew reminded us how powerful community partnerships can be in expanding access to outdoor adventures.
We’re incredibly grateful to REI for their continued partnership and passion for inclusion. We hope every attendee left feeling inspired and ready to bring the message of adaptive recreation back to their communities across the country.
And of course, we can’t forget a major highlight of the day—the debut of our newly wrapped Subaru, thanks to our friends at Carter Subaru! “Subie Sally” stole the show in her fresh new look. You literally couldn’t miss her! Keep your eyes peeled for #SpotSubieSally this year as she hits the road, helping us connect with even more folks in the community.
Thank you again to REI and everyone who made this day so special. Here’s to building a more inclusive outdoors—together.
