Outdoors for All programs would not be possible without the support of our amazing volunteers! With over 800 volunteers each year, it’s hard to pick out just one, but here is our new Volunteer Spotlight!
Sandy (pictured left) discovered Outdoors for All through her job at REI in June. She attended volunteer orientation a week later, and then dove right into supporting our kayaking programs. She is a self proclaimed “water enthusiast” and we certainly benefited from her experience, as she supported multiple weeks of our kayaking series and two kayaking Custom Events.
“With her previous kayaking experience and her patient, fun-loving attitude, Sandy’s versatility in her abilities to effectively work with participants and to be a safety boat for the program proved to be very valuable. Her enthusiasm for getting our participants out on the water is contagious and she even stepped beyond her role in the summer series program to come help us out at a kayaking custom event with Headstrong, a group for people who have experienced a traumatic brain injury. Sandy is also always taking great pictures for the program, which is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your hard work Sandy!”
