Shona Kerrick is a Southern California native who attended the University of Oregon and studied Political Science with minors in Special Education and Women & Gender studies. She has worked across special education classrooms at the elementary, middle and high school levels, with a focus in high functioning Autism programs. Additionally, she has worked as a caregiver for both youth and adults with disabilities, in both private homes and group home living settings. While living in Bend, Oregon she became a Therapeutic Recreation Leader through Bend Parks and Recreation District and became involved with the Oregon Adaptive Sports community, gaining experiences with instructing lessons with their adaptive ski program.
Upon relocation to Seattle in June of 2018, she joined Outdoors for All as as a summer Day Camp Lead, overseeing the Marymoor park location of camp. Shona enjoys all things outdoors and finds the highest caliber of joy when she is rock climbing, skiing, swimming and hiking. She passionately believes in the restorative benefits of recreation and engagement with nature for folx of all backgrounds and identities. When she’s not working or playing, Shona can be found with a good book, her cat, and a lavender latte.
