As we pursue Outdoors for All’s mission, we survey our participants, family members and volunteers for how we’re doing. In one survey, we received some feedback constructive criticism (and we’re working to go to school off of those suggestions). But we also received some rave reviews for our staff and volunteers. Here are some of those comments:

“My daughter had such a great experience skiing with Outdoors for All. As with all the years she’s participated, the instructors our outstanding. All of them have been enthusiastic, completely qualified, devoted to their job, and thoroughly enjoy working with my child. It’s a place where she isn’t perceived as different is any way.

Colin looks forward all year to skiing with your program. It’s the only way he can. This year, his brother came over from his new home in Australia to ski the last Sunday which was huge for both of them. Keep up the good work!”

“This was a dream come true for my son to be able to take snowboarding lessons! Thanks you so much for this program and the opportunity, when otherwise it wouldn’t have been possible. The instructor, and other volunteers were amazing, caring, and really went out of their way to help and include my son and make it a great experience for him.”

“The volunteers that work with my kids are amazing and wonderful group of people. I cannot thank you them enough. They are the best.”

“With my yearly involvement in X country skiing, and at the age of 65, I am beginning to have increased problems with balance and mobility, BUT, I really enjoy the activity and want to stay involved with the sport/team in any way I can, no matter how minimal it is. I hope Outdoors for All can help me stay involved and suggest ways or counsel that I might find appropriate activities.”

“This is an AMAZING program. It was our first year, but we really feel it has been life changing because it allows us include our special needs child in active outdoor activities. Before Outdoors for All, we mostly stayed home getting FAT and depressed, because we didn’t know how to include our daughter in outdoor activities and it would have broken her heart if we left her behind. You have given her such a wonderful opportunity and in a few short weeks she has come farther than I imagined she could. I simply cannot put into words my gratitude. You all make the world a better place.”

“Outdoors for All has given me a way to make friends and to have a circle of friends that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. It gives me something to look forward to.”

“My experience has been wonderful. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I feel accomplished, happy and fortunate that I can independently take the bus and do things others can do. I feel strong and smart that I have learned so much. My instructor really cares about me and is my friend. She has taught me so much and makes me think I can do anything. She makes if fun for me too.”

“We couldn’t be happier! We have been involved with Outdoors for All for four years now and are so amazed at all you do to include people with different abilities. Thank you!”

“Outdoors for all has enabled my son to ski, hangout and be just “one of the guys”. This is such an awesome program. His instructor Skyler is phenomenal and I hope he will continue to volunteer. We have been involved for over 12 years and Outdoors for All has definitely enriched our lives.”

Pursuing more outcomes like these drives us to do more. Here’s to that! See you on the cycling paths, hiking trails and water ways —

Sincerely,
