Why are These People Having so Much Fun?

The Problem: Issaquah had grown dramatically over the last few years. With that growth there was a growing need for safe, fun, meaningful and affordable recreation options for children and adults with disabilities in the community.

The Solution: The Rotary Club of Issaquah sponsored a Custom Adaptive Recreation Event by Outdoors for All Foundation / C.A.R.E.S. Program for the community so that kids & adults with disabilities and family members could recreate together. More than 70 participants and their family members joined in the fun of Issaquah Rotary’s Challenge Day.

The Results: “We couldn’t believe it! Our granddaughter (Nicole, who has cerebral palsy) may not be able to walk (yet) but she sure can ride a bike—thanks to Outdoors for All!” Grandfather of Nicole Heikell shown on this card riding the cycle with yellow tires (with proud dad).

Community Groups, Parks and Recreation Departments and Schools throughout the region have found that offering a Custom Adaptive Recreation Event by Outdoors for All / C.A.R.E.S. Program makes sense: Proven, Affordable, Inclusive and Fun!
